Why have a Toastmaster?
As professional Toastmasters, work takes me all over the country and I have been asked on many occasions......."Why have a Toastmaster & what does he do"?
All formal events require an element of organisation and there are different Etiquette's, Protocol's and formalities dependent on the event. Most people do not have the expertise, knowledge and experience and would rather leave the planning and issue's to someone who is an expert............this is where your Toastmaster comes in.
Eugene & Sheila are not only professional Toastmasters but also professional event consultants. They will advise and guide you through formalities, protocol, etiquette and timings (timings are very important for all events to run smoothly). Once a plan is agreed we will produce an event plan which will include the running order, and timings. They arrive at the venue at least two hour before the start to brief the banqueting manager, staff, entertainment, photographer to making sure everyone is fully up to speed.

Will a hotel really supply a Toastmaster?
If the hotel offers to supply a Toastmaster, remember he is working for the hotel, NOT you!
Many hotels say they will supply a Toastmaster, however the chances are he will NOT be trained as a professional Toastmaster belonging to a Guild, most will just make announcements. Hotels plan on finishing service by 9.00pm, therefore there MC will have been instructed to hurry proceedings up and get everything finished by 9.00pm, because they do not want to pay staff overtime. Many problems or issues are NOT resolved because as an employee of the hotel it is very difficult for him to tell a senior member of staff to sort things immediately, this WILL lead to complaints from your guests!
The Toastmaster works for you and will not allow this to happen!
